This page explains exactly what cookies s4.com uses, what they do, and how to control them. We try to keep this short and honest.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website saves on your device. Most modern websites use them in some form — for login sessions, layout preferences, analytics, advertising, or all of the above.
What cookies s4.com uses
This site uses a small number of essential cookies and similar storage. We do not use analytics, advertising, social-media tracking, or behavioural profiling.
Essential storage
| Name | Set by | Purpose | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
s4_cookie_consent_v1 |
s4.com (browser localStorage, not a cookie) | Remembers that you have dismissed the cookie notice so we don’t show it again on every visit. | Until you clear your browser storage |
wordpress_logged_in_* |
WordPress | Keeps administrators signed in. Only set if you log in to the WordPress admin. | Until you log out |
wp-settings-* |
WordPress | Stores admin-UI preferences. Only set if you log in. | 1 year |
PHPSESSID |
PHP / our host | Standard server session identifier — created only when the server needs one for a specific request. | Browser session |
What we don’t use
- No Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or other analytics platforms
- No advertising pixels (Facebook / Meta, Google Ads, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.)
- No third-party social-media tracking widgets
- No retargeting, fingerprinting, or behavioural profiling
- No data sold to advertisers, brokers, or any third party
If that ever changes — for example, if we add a privacy-friendly analytics tool — we will update this page before rolling the change live and re-show the consent banner so you can decide.
How to control cookies
- Re-open the cookie notice. Click Cookie settings in the page footer at any time to bring the banner back.
- Clear cookies in your browser. All modern browsers let you block or clear cookies for specific sites. Search “block cookies in [your browser]” for step-by-step instructions.
- Disable JavaScript. Doing so will hide the cookie notice but will also break other parts of the site — not recommended.
Third-party links
Some pages on s4.com link to external sites — POS partners, customer references, or documentation hosted elsewhere. Those sites have their own cookie practices, which we don’t control. Check the destination’s own policy when you click through.
Changes to this policy
If we ever add analytics, advertising, or any new third-party storage, we will update this page first and re-prompt for your consent before activating it.
