What's included
- The enterprise AR product — distinct from store-level S4 WinAR
- Built for the workflow once AR moves to the corporate office
- Designed for chains running AR across multiple stores
- Coexists with S4 WinAR for retailers that need both layers
Corporate-level Accounts Receivable for multi-store retailers. House charges, parent/child account hierarchies, and consolidated billing — managed at the chain, not at the lane.
S4 Accounts Receivable is the enterprise AR product — for corporate teams running AR across multiple stores. For store-level house-charging at a single retailer, see S4 WinAR Accounts Receivable.
Built for chains, not single stores
WinAR is exceptional for a single store running its own house charges. But once a retailer grows past one or two stores, AR moves to the corporate office — and the workflow changes. Consolidated statements have to cross store boundaries. Credit limits need to apply chain-wide. Parent companies with multiple subsidiaries need account hierarchies that the lane just can’t handle.
S4 Accounts Receivable is the corporate layer that handles all of that.
What S4 Accounts Receivable does
Multi-store consolidated billing. Charges from any store roll up to a single customer account at corporate. One statement, one balance, one billing relationship — no matter how many stores a customer touches.
Parent/child account hierarchies. Parent companies with subsidiaries, franchises, or affiliated brands can sit above their child accounts. Bill the parent; track the children; report at either level.
Centralized credit management. Credit limits, hold rules, and aging policies set at corporate, enforced at every store.
Chain-wide reporting. Aging reports, customer transaction history, dunning letters, and tax-exempt sales reporting that span the whole chain rather than one store at a time.
Integration with S4 Enterprise. Pricing, promotions, and AR all live in the same multi-store platform. The same items, the same vendor structure, the same hierarchy that S4 Enterprise uses for pricing applies to AR.
Where it fits
S4 Accounts Receivable is for retailers running multiple stores under a single ownership or corporate umbrella who need:
- A single AR view across all locations
- Consolidated statements for customers who shop multiple stores
- Centrally controlled credit policies
- Account hierarchies that reflect corporate structure
- Audit-ready visibility into AR at the chain level
It’s not a replacement for WinAR — it sits above it. Single-store retailers run WinAR. Multi-store retailers can run both: WinAR for in-store house charging at each location, and S4 Accounts Receivable for the corporate roll-up.
